Podravka's 1,000 gift packets 'For 1,000 joys'

This year’s Christmas humanitarian campaign organised by Croatian Caritas entitled “For 1,000 Joys” was launched in Zagreb on Monday, 29 November 2004. The campaign was presented to the representatives of sponsors, donors and the media by Monsignor Josip Mrzljak, Assistant to the Bishop of Zagreb and President of Croatian Caritas, Ivan Milovčić, Head of Croatian Caritas, and Boris Peterlin, who is in charge of the Christmas campaign.

Croatian Caritas launched this year’s campaign with the slogan “Discover a New Dimension of Gift Giving”, trying to collect funds for the poorest families in Croatia, but at the same time attempting to raise awareness and strengthen the sources of humane and Christian values that Christmas represents. This year Podravka is participating in the Christmas humanitarian campaign organised by Croatian Caritas by donating 1,000 gift packets containing the best-known products from Podravka.

In last year’s campaign “For 1,000 Joys”, a total of HRK 2,600,000 was collected mainly in financial form, while one part of the funds was in the form of concrete products and services which were donated to 1,126 families throughout Croatia through the network of Diocesan and County Caritas offices. Croatian Caritas expects this year’s Christmas humanitarian campaign to surpass last year’s which was declared very successful.
