Ritual slaughter of cattle

Danica meat processing

At the beginning of this week a ritual slaughter of cattle was carried out at the slaughterhouse of the Danica meat processing plant for the needs of the Islamic religious community in Croatia. Abiding by a strictly determined procedure, under the supervision of a representative of the Islamic community, some fifty head of cattle were slaughtered. All had been purchased from cattle breeders in Podravina and are exclusively of domestic origin. The choice of Danica to perform the ritual slaughter of beef cattle reflects the trust of the Islamic religious community in the quality and safety of Podravka meat processing.
