Mincemeat nests

Serve mincemeat nests on a bed of crystal lettuce or radicchio and enjoy the charm of a simple dish.

Mincemeat nests

Ingredients

  • 250 g ground beef
  • 200 g semihard cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tomatoes
  • salt
  • Vegeta Maestro coloured peppercorns
  • 1 packet Fant seasoning mix for meat patties
  • Lettuce for serving
  • 250 g ground pork

Preparation

  1. Mix the contents of the Fant packet with 150 ml warm water and let stand a few minutes. Add meat to prepared Fant mixture and mix well.
  2. Shape mixture into balls and press in a deep well in the top of each to get 8 round nests, and place in a baking dish.
  3. Mix eggs and grated cheese in a bowl and pour into well in the top of the nests.
  4. Place a tomato slice on top of each nest, season with salt and pepper as desired. Bake about 30 minutes in oven preheated to 200°C.

Serving: Serve mincemeat nests on a bed of greens.

Advice: You can use cheeses such as ricotta or mozzarella, and then no egg is needed.
