Mediterranean beef goulash

The addition of fragrant thyme will give a Mediterranean note to this beef stew, while prunes and dried figs will enhance this dish with a refreshing, fruity flavour.

Mediterranean beef goulash

Ingredients

  • 600 g boneless beef meat
  • ½ teaspoon Vegeta Maestro Thyme
  • 4 prunes
  • 2 dried figs
  • 200 ml red wine
  • 1 packet Fant seasoning for stews and paprikash
  • 400 g pasta (like pljukanci)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  1. Cut beef into cubes and briefly fry in hot oil over high heat until golden.
  2. Add in a little water, thyme, dried figs and prunes, and sauté covered over low heat, stirring occasionally until the meat is tender.
  3. Once the meat is tender, remove pot from heat, add wine and about 700 ml water, and mix in contents of Fant packet. Stir, return to heat and cook for about 15 minutes.

Serving: Serve goulash with pasta.

Advice: Instead of dried fruit, at the end of cooking you can add 1 teaspoon Podravka plum jam.
