Mediterranean meatballs

Serve fried meatballs on eggplant slices seasoned with Mediterranean herbs and enjoy this fantastic dish with a glass of wine.

Mediterranean meatballs

Ingredients

  • 500 g mixed ground meat
  • 1 packet Fant seasoning mix for meat balls
  • 2 eggplants
  • 60 ml white wine
  • 390 g Podravka chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil
  • 70 g capers

Preparation

  1. Mix contents of Fant packet in 100 ml warm water, and let stand several minutes.
  2. Add prepared Fant mixture to ground meat, add half of the chopped capers, chopped basil and oregano, and mix well.
  3. Shape mixture into meatballs, and briefly fry in a hot pan.
  4. Add capers to chopped tomatoes, sauté briefly, add in white wine and a little water.
  5. Sauté briefly, add fried meatballs and cook until meatballs become softened, and the sauce is reduced.

Serving: Serve with lightly fried thin slices of eggplant.

Advice: You can also add 80 g rice to the meatballs.
